Three new videos from our Solidarity Prepping Group seminar series are on YouTube.
Every two weeks, the Solidarity Prepping Group presents a seminar from one of our members on a topic related to building resilience in our homes and communities. The presentations are recorded, along with the Q&A sessions afterward. (See our Meeting Calendar to find the next meeting.)
Our video-editing pipeline has been backed up, but now we are up to date! We have just posted three videos of seminars from the past few months. Please check them out:
- Camping with Kids as Practice for Resilience - with Cynthia, retired special-needs teacher, of Albuquerque, 13 June 2026. Cynthia has used nature-based experiences to help traumatized young people connect with nature and themselves. Here, she presents a collection of resources from the REI outdoor-gear library to show how it's done.
- Metabolizing the Pain of Collapse - with Matthew Painton, Deep Adaptation Coach and Guide, 25 July 2026. Matthew specializes in accompanying people on their journey of collapse awareness and adaptation. In this presentation, he describes his methods of facilitating the metabolization of difficult emotions, to reach "more-than-me enlivenment." He shows some of his macro photographs of insects, which are his own "wise-action project."
- A White Woman on the Red Road: Daily Practices of Lakota Devotion - with Ramey Rieger from Germany, 8 August 2026. Ramey was adopted into the Lakota spiritual tradition 35 years ago. She is entrusted with conducting the sacred sweat-lodge ceremony, especially for women. Here, she shares her daily practices of staying connected to the "hoop of life" which encompasses all beings, including human beings.
Also, you may want to see Surviving on the Farm, with Hynek from the Czech Republic, and the follow-up Q&A session. Hynek's charismatic intelligence shines through his idiosyncratic English to give a fascinating portrayal of daily life on a family farm built for resilience.
